Karen Sotelino has a Ph.D. in Literature and Translation from UCSC. Her recent translation work includes Machado de Assis’s  Ressurreição (Resurrection, Latin American Literary Review Press 2013);   Raul Brandão’s Os Pobres (The Poor, Dalkey Archive 2016); and Raduan Nassar’s Lavoura Arcaica   (Ancient Tillage, Penguin, 2016; New Directions 2017). She has taught Portuguese and literary translation at Stanford University and lectured at Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (Vila Real, Portugal), University of Osaka, and UCLA
