Reading of the United States Constitution – Come join us! ¡Unámonos a esta protesta!

Come join us! ¡Unámonos a esta protesta!

What: Reading of the United States Constitution

When: Friday, November 18 at noon

Where: Upper Sproul Plaza

Why: Many of us here on campus were appalled at the politics of resentment, bigotry, and misogyny that fueled President-elect Donald J. Trump’s campaign. We are now horrified by the racist, homophobic, Islamophobic, and anti-Semitic acts being done in his name, on this campus and beyond. And we believe that his transition team’s choice to associate themselves with white supremacy is a direct threat to both the safety of the American people and to the values of our pluralistic and democratic society. We want to stand up on behalf of the members of our community who feel personally targeted by the President-elect’s hateful words and disturbing actions. The Constitution of the United States of America belongs to all Americans, and we will fight to protect both that Constitution and the rights it guarantees to the members of our community, our state, and our country.
