Leoné Astride Barzotto, Representações de etnicidade na literatura brasileira-americana do século XXI

Prof. Leoné Astride Barzotto, will offer a talk in Portuguese on the writing of contemporary Brazilian writers who live and work in the U.S. on Tuesday, November 17, at 5:15 in the Spanish and Portuguese Library.  (Dwinelle 5215)   The talk is entitled “Representações de etnicidade na literatura brasileira-americana do século XXI” and features work by Adriana Lisboa, Diana Menashcé and Angela Bretas.  Prof. Barzotto is a Post-Doc here at Berkeley this Fall with a fellowship from CAPES.  Back in Brazil, she is Associate Professor of Literature and Cultural Studies at the Federal University of Grande Dourados.  Her writing focuses on Contemporary Brazilian and Latin American Literature and Post-Colonial Literatures and she is the author of numerous articles and book chapters, along with two books–Pós-colonialism:  interfaces entre língua, literatura e cultura and Interfaces culturais: The Ventriloquist’s Tale & Macunaíma
