A Commemoration/Celebration of the Life and Work of the Poet Paul Celan

(November 23, 1920–April 20, 1970)

–This live Zoomcast event will also celebrate the recent release of several new translations of and books about Celan, including City Lights Publishers’ new edition of  Under the Dome: Walks with Paul Celan by the poet Jean Daive, translated from the French by Rosmarie Waldrop.

Special guests will include Judith Butler, Mary Ann Caws, Norma Cole, Jean Daive, Philip Gerard, Fady Joudah, Myung Mi Kim, D.S. Marriott, Michael Palmer, Doris Salcedo, Timothy Snyder, Roberto Tejada, Rosmarie Waldrop, and Raúl Zurita. (Co-sponsors: UC Berkeley’s Art Museum and Film Archive, BAMPFA; and UC Berkeley’s Departments of Comparative Literature, English, German, French, and Spanish & Portuguese.)
