The department is very pleased to announce that Marlena Gittleman, a graduate student in Comparative Literature and a former student of Catalan 102 in our department, has been selected to participate in the Emerging Translator Mentorship Program co-sponsored by the Catalan institution Institut Ramon Llull and the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA).
She will be translating into English the Catalan novel "Mai no sé què fer fora de casa" by the Mallorcan writer Neus Canyelles. Congratulations to Marlena, and many thanks to Ana Belén Redondo Campillos, Marlena's Catalan instructor.
