Blood Novels: Gender, Caste, and Race in Spanish Realism - Julia Chang (Cornell U)

Professor Julia Chang (Cornell University) will join the Iberian Studies working group via Zoom to discuss the first chapter of her recently published Blood Novels: Gender, Caste, and Race in Spanish Realism (University of Toronto Press, 2022). For those interested, see the introduction and the first chapter, which explores the gendered and racialized significance of blood in Juan Valera’s realist novel Doña Luz (1879).
