Non-confidential:

  • The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) helps ensure that faculty, staff, and students are "free from discrimination and harassment on the basis of categories including race, color, national origin, gender, age and sexual orientation/identity", and also "has the specific responsibility for providing prompt and effective responses to all complaints of sex discrimination or harassment ...." Complainants should be aware that OPHD, as the campus Title IX office, cannot legally guarantee confidentiality in all matters brought to its attention.
  • The Disabled Students Program promotes an inclusive environment for students with disabilities, including providing students with appropriate accommodations and services and collaborating with the campus community to remove barriers to educational access.
  • The Gender Equity Resource Center is a welcoming space for the entire campus community, with a special focus on marginalized and underserved populations.

Confidential:

  • The Staff Ombuds Office is a confidential place for employees to discuss and clarify concerns, identify options, and create problem-solving strategies to resolve workplace conflict. The office is available to all staff, non-Senate academics, as well as to faculty who perform management functions.
  • The Ombuds Office for Students and Postdoctoral Appointees is a confidential place to discuss complaints and consider options; the office can assist with problem-solving and conflict resolution, and provides referrals to appropriate campus services and resources.
  • The campus Path to Care Center provides "affirming, empowering, and confidential support for those that have experienced sexual harassment, emotional abuse, dating and intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sexual exploitation."
    • PATH to Care Advocacy appointments are available to UC Berkeley students, staff, and faculty impacted by SVSH. Survivors can call (510) 642-1988 or email ptcadvocates@berkeley.edu
    • Urgent Same-Day Counseling For Students in Crisis is available through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) by calling (510) 642-9494 Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. After hours, students can call the After Hours Support Line at (855) 817-5667
    • At anytime, survivors can call the National Sexual Assault Hotline 800.656.HOPE (4673)
    • Emergency: If there is an immediate threat to health or safety, call 911
  • Social Services offers confidential counseling for specialized concerns such as chronic medical illnesses, pregnancy, eating disorders and nutrition, violence, and alcohol or other drugs.
  • Counseling and Psychological Services (University Health Services, Tang Center (2222 Bancroft Way, 510-642-6074) offers confidential counseling for students. 
  • Employee Assistance (University Health Services, Tang Center (2222 Bancroft Way, 510-642-6074) offers confidential counseling and assistance to faculty and staff employees.
