An interview-style conversation between Adriana Lisboa and Prof. Candace Slater on writing and thinking in English and Portuguese with an emphasis on translation in all senses of the word. Particular emphasis on the movement between multiple languages. Sponsored by the Townsend Center Art of Writing Program

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese is pleased to welcome distinguished writer, translator and teacher Achy Obejas as our Writer-in-Residence for Spring 2017. She will be teaching a beginning workshop for translators, which will include critical readings, in-class exercises, peer critique and discussion. Language fluency is not necessary. No prior translation experience necessary.
